Tiffany&Co in Moscow

Despite the fact that his parents had no financial problems – Tiffany Senior owned a successful textile production – Charles Lewis Tiffany sought to earn money independently since his teens. At the age of 15 every day after school he worked in a grocery store, which was also owned by his father, and at the age of 18 he already managed the family mill. In 1837 25-year-old Charles takes $ 1,000 from his father, a considerable sum of money in those days, and with his schoolmate John B. Young and future wife Harriet Olivia Aveni Young goes to New York, where he opens a small shop of office products and souvenirs. On the first day of work the proceeds from sales made 4,98 dollars…
Charles Lewis lived 90 years, gave birth to six children and the company, which was recognized the most prominent jewelry firm in North America and repeatedly received awards at the World Exhibition in Paris. Since then 112 years have passed, but the motto of Charles Lewis Tiffany “Good design – good business” drives Tiffany & Co Jewelry House until now. You may see it with your own eyes in the Russian flagship boutique of the brand in GUM.
