Galy Shwartz necklace specially for Bijoux Bazaar © Egor Berladin, Bosco di Ciliegi press department

That’s what she tells about herself: “Name: Galy Shwartz. Country: Israel. Age: 29. Profession: jewelry artist. Graduated famous Shenkar College of Engineering and Design, the Jewelry Department. My jewelries are made of extraordinary, self developed materials which are the result of research and experiments. Crystals, polymers, leather and metals are integrated into jewelry that reflect both fashion and art”. Galy Shwartz jewelries are sold in exclusive boutiques in Paris and in Tel-Aviv where an employee of the Museum of Modern Art in Tel-Aviv, my friend Irina Popova and I had spotted her talent. The inspiration of the jewelry for presentation in Petrovsky Passage came from a vintage brooch that Galy received from her mother, who had received it from her mother (Galy’s grandmother). This brooch was created in the late Victorian period the 19th century. “In my necklace I integrated both a vintage ornament and my own, original style and materials that reflect nowadays trends”- explains granddaughter. The new design combines past and present, that way conveys sense of continuity”. Vintage made of brass, oxidized brass, leather, zircon, Swarovski stones turned in Galy’s hand in one of the most unusual pieces of jewelry that I have ever held in my hands. It was really hard to stand the desire to sneak this necklace for my own collection!
