The workshop of the iconic Israeli bijoux-brand Noritamy is located in the house, where lives jeweler Tammar Edelman with her husband. Her daughter, who is the face of the brand, architect Elinor Avni grew up here. After excursion in Noritamy’s studio you feel an unconscious desire to possess all of their products made of gilt metal and silver that look more like miniature architectural object than adornment. The combination of high end metals with a variety of other materials such as brass, wood, polymers, fabric and leather gives each piece a unique view. It’s impossible to pass by this jewelry and at the same it doesn’t overshadow her mistress, but emphasizes her beauty. The idea of creating this particular necklace was inspired by Elinor’s grandmother’s brooch made of sterling silver and pearl with two gem stones inlay. “This necklace my grandmother gave as a present to my mother on her wedding day,- says Elinor. The main idea was to create unconventional, unexpected way of pinning a brooch in combination with ideal interpretation the metal’s total look onto a soft material. The materials for the necklace we chose oxidized metal and polished plated gold, creating an unusual relief of the surface, which gave a vintage look to the necklace”.
