The exhibition “Fashion in the Mirror of History, XIX-XX century, 200 years of Russian fashion” which brings together exhibits from the collection of a fashion historian Alexandre Vassiliev and Museums of Moscow was opened recently in the Moscow Museum on Zubovsky boulevard, 2.
Not only the objects themselves, many of which were donated to the collector by their famous owners, deserve your attention, but also the design of the exposition: mannequins, lighting, decor and composition of the exhibition.
Everything is done at such a great level, which is very rarely seen even in western museums. An unexpected bonus: some of the museum keepers are so imbued with the project, they literally add the “effect of presence”, in the
part of the exhibition dedicated to the Soviet period of the 20th century, they go around grumbling such iconic phrases as “walk here all sorts of…” or “I will inform about you where it is necessary…”
Taking photos of the exhibits is allowed, which is unusual for Russian museums and brings us closer to the international museum civilization.
