L’Arte del Ritratto” at Art Basel and Design Miami.

During Art Basel and Design Miami 2012 which will take place in Miami Beach from December 6 through 9 December, Marni will present the exhibition “L’Arte del Ritratto” (The Art of Portraiture) with a new edition of outdoor furniture collection which will be sold exclusively at the Marni Miami Store.
Marni has presented for Salone del Mobile 2012 in Milan a collection of 100 chairs made in Colombia by ex-prisoners. This campaign was aimed to ease their transition back into society. Consuelo Castiglioni re-interpreted a traditional Colombian seat modifying the shape, the woven pattern and creating new color variations.
The chairs gave a background for a series of portraits of Marni employees shot by the famous photographer and filmmaker Francesco Jodice, “L’Arte del Ritratto”. The photos will be exhibited in Marni Miami Store. The funds raised from the sale of the chairs will be donated to Charity partners.
