«Azzedine Alaïa: The Couturier» is the first UK solo exhibition, which was personally planned and curated by the French couturier himself. Azzedine Alaïa selected 60 garments from his archival collections; the bandage dresses, leather suits and cape-dresses are among the other iconic designs. Alaïa has worked upon his personal retrospective till the day of his death. The French couturier has passed away on November 18, 2017 at the age of 77 years old. Azzedine Alaïa created his couture design independently on fashion week shows. He presented his collection the moment he wanted to do it, working to his own schedule.
