On the 13th of July 2013 the results of the prestigious international contest for young designers ITS (International Talent Support 2013) were announced in Trieste, Italy.
The jury of ITS-2013 was made of 17 famous professionals of the fashion industry, such as current creative director of Diesel – Nicola Formichetti, Maison Martin Margiela designer – Ivana Omazic, the director of the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York – Harold Koda, the director of the Galliera Museum – City of Paris Fashion Museum – Laurent Cotta, the founder of the ITS contest – Barbara Franchin, strategy consultant of the British Fashion Council – Anna Orsini, edotor-in-chief of a highly authoritative blog Business of Fashion – Imran Amed, one of the famous Parisian head hunter -Floriane de St. Pierre, iconic byer Carla Sozzani, fashion expert – Evelina Khromtchenko, the owner of Diesel fashion company – Renzo Rosso.
The list of ITS – International Talent Support 2013 winners:
FASHION COLLECTION OF THE YEAR – Han Chul Lee gets € 15,000 to create new collection + return at ITS 2014 in the jury & presentation of new collection.
DIESEL AWARD – Xiao Li gets € 25,000 which she can use, without limitations, to promote her work in the best possible way and to invest in the career, moreover she gets internship within the Diesel Creative Team.
FASHION SPECIAL PRIZE – Tomohiro Sato gets € 5,000 offered by EVE + POPUPDESIGNGALLERY, interactive window capturing the expressive language evolution of the contemporary design, offers to the winner the possibility to freely showcase their work for one week with a set-up of strong visual impact.
EYES ON TALENT Award – Cat Potter gets € 3,000 and a featured profile communication to all Eyes On Talents member brands.
VOGUE TALENTS Award fashion – Han Chul Lee gets a publication within 2013 of a photoshoot of the entire collection with an interview in Vogue.it in the Vogue Talents section.
VOGUE TALENTS Award accessories – Youngwon Kim gets publication within 2013 of a photoshoot of the entire collection with an interview in Vogue.it in the Vogue Talents section.
YOOX Award – Nelly Hoffman will create with the support of yoox.com- the world’s leading virtual store for multi-brand fashion, design and art – an exclusive garment, that will be sold online all over the world.
MODATECA Award – Tomohiro Sato gets € 3,000 for the most innovative knitwear collection’s concept.
BUSINESS OF FASHION Award – Felix Chabluk Smith gets a year of free consultations with BUSINESS OF FASHION editor-in-chief – Imran Amed.
SWATCH Award – Milko Boyarov will receive a cash prize of €5,000 and has the opportunity to collaborate with the brand. The prize will be assigned by Swatch evaluating the special project presented.
SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS Award – Lili Colley will receive a cash prize of €10,000 + a 6-month internship.
YKK Award – Percy Lau gets €10,000 + possible use by YKK in promotional advertising.
ACCESSORIES COLLECTION OF THE YEAR Award – Leonard Kahlcke will receive €5,000, return at ITS 2014 in the jury & presentation of new collection, showcase at Modamont September 2013 with feature in website and catalogue.
The ITS Award is a creative platform, which was found in 2002 by Barbara Franchin and her company with purpose of supporting and giving exposure and opportunity for job offers to young designer creating clothes, accessories and jewelry. During past 11 years more than 400 finalists were maintained, most of them now hold the key positions in the fashion business. Each year more than 1000 students from 250 fashion-schools in 80 countries apply for this contest.
During these years the jury was made up of such experts as: Marina Abramović, Franca Sozzani, Viktor & Rolf, Raf Simons, Antonio Marras, Sophia Kokosalaki, Colin McDowell, Antonio Berardi, Hilary Alexander, Cathy Horyn, Cecilia Dean, Patti Wilson, Sarah Moon, Gareth Pugh.
ITS-2013 consist of 3 stands: ITS FASHION – head partner DIESEL,
ITS ACCESSORIES – head partner YKK, ITS JEWELRY – head partner SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS. And also other sponsors: SWATCH, EYES ON TALENT and YOOX.
