Long time ago I found young and talented Vika Gazinskaya, Alena Akhmadullina, Dmitry Loginov, Andrey Artemov, Sergey Teplov, Lilia Poustovit and many others at the local fashion shows and designer competitions in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Krasnoyarsk, Ufa, Kiev and so on and did my best for make the whole fashion-biz know about them.
Today I’m happy to share with you my 2011 finds. I recommended Maria Golubeva, Yanina Vekhteva, Olga Shihova for granting a free participation in the show-room of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia. Their spring-summer 2012 collections became a worthy adornment of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia. Please take a look at this lookbook and assure yourself of it.

March 2012 Maria Golubeva, Yanina Vekhteva, Olga Shihova will show their fall-winter 2012-2013 collections at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia.

Maria Golubeva
Muscovite Maria Golubeva was graduated from Russian Academy of Foreign Trade and British Higher School of Design. Management studies didn’t prevent her form becoming fashion designer. Style of the brand Maria Golubeva is feminity with a romantic slant. “I’d like to make all women around me more feminine and good looking”, – said Maria. Her collection presented during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Russia spring-summer 2012 is inspired by tenderness and purity of colors. The main idea is to make people admire a woman like a flower. There is a dress with petals, a skirt like a bud, another dress hugs a body like delicate petals of white calla. Debutante works with weightless chiffon, soft silk, translucent organza. Maria’s favorite brand is Lanvin.

Yanina Vekhteva
Yanina was graduated from the University of textile named after Kosygin in 2011 but her brand Yanina Vekhteva exists since the year 2008. The story starts from children’s puppet dream. Then was clothes made of paper and the first real dress Yanina made for her mom. Since that time she consider a dress as the most valuable element of ladies’ wardrobe. “A dress makes you think about yourself, develop your image”. The phylosofy of Yanina Vekhteva – the beauty is in the simplicity. The latest collection consists of clothes made only from natural materials – wool, silk, bagging. The bagging was used for long dresses and long sleeve tops – comfortable and usable. “I wish to create a fashion brand – viable entity which will function and please people”. Yanina likes Dries Van Noten and Marni.

Olga Shihova
Olga was born in Ekaterinburg. Graduated from Ural Academy of Architecture and Art in her native city she left to Moscow. Olga had a training at Andrey Sharov’, worked as an film costume artist (Generation P), assistant of artist (Brigada-2) and in theatre (Moya zubastaya niania). Designer is inspired by 70s minimalism and contemporary art, espessially Agness Martin paintings with one-color parallel stripes. For first collection Untitled, with which Olga debuted at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Russia, she worked as a sculptor-minimalist, who uses fabric instead of marble and metal. And created column like dresses, balloon-dress and wonderful accessories – collars made of wool and satin, decorated with featliers, pearls, beads. Future plans? “To create my own fashion brand, which will outlive me”.
