Pink: The History of a Punk, Pretty, Powerful Color exhibition at The Museum at FIT in New York
Pink is one of the most controversial colors in fashion, some consider it as the color of eternal youth, others despise it for the cliché of naivety. The exhibition of The Museum at FIT showcases the way stereotypes about the pink color were formed, and how the status of this color changes in modern fashion: from romanticism and femininity up to the political statements and feminism. Pink color is displayed in a global context and in chronological order from the middle of the XIX century to the XX century. Among the exhibits are the archives from Dior, Gucci, Comme des Garçons, Valentino and Elsa Schiaparelli fashion houses.
Exhibition runs till January 5, 2019
Address: Seventh Avenue at 27 Street, New York City 10001-5992
