Right now and until March 13, the exhibition “Barbie — the icon” is taking place in the Museum of culture (Mudec) in Milan, where you can try to understand like a doll, first had been produced by Mattel in 1959, became part of popular culture and a a kind of symbol of beauty. The exhibition space is divided into seven parts and includes the dolls, clothes, photos and videos. We all remember that in this year dolls with of “not Barbie standards” looks and clothing sizes were released. “Bodypositive” Barbie even was put on the Times cover with the slogan: “Now can we stop talking about my body?”
