Number of events dedicated to Chinese art opens January 27 at The Fondation Louis Vuitton. The exhibition «Bentu – Chinese artists in an era of unrest and transformation” will be held until April, and will present the most important contemporary artists of China, including Zhao Fei, Liang and Liu Hao Chu. It’s hard to navigate the sound of the names? Judging by the interest of the fashion industry to this country, we will soon learn how to pronounce them without hesitation and memorize. These mods began in May last year, when appeared that the exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum and the iconic party Met Gala – Ball Costume Institute – were devoted to China.

Exposition of 11 Chinese artists from the permanent collection of the Fondation Louis Vuitton also openes on 27 January and will last until September. Among the exhibits: “Tree” by Ai Weiwei, sculpture “Eternity” by Xu Zheng, the sculpture “New” by Xu Zhen, which is a huge multi-colored figure of Guanyin, one of the most revered in China Buddhist goddess, transformed into a symbol of pop art, video installation by Isaac Julien “Ten Thousand Waves”, which is a tribute to Chinese culture with a clear allusion to its various aspects (calligraphy, the art of the cinema of the 1930s, etc.)

Also in the spring and summer of 2016 in Fondation Louis Vuitton there will be held lectures, concerts and film screenings dedicated to China.
