In his latest Haute Couture collection Jean-Paul Gaultier focused on the vampire there, expressing the chosen vector in a very convincing, strong and talented manner. Besides quite wearable, elegant dresses and predictable – tuxedo with slightly flared pants, pantsuits, overalls, velvet and lace joggings, elongated jackets with accentuated shoulder line, he released a set of dresses worthy to decorate the museum exhibitions and books on fashion. My Instagram followers were most impressed by the long dress with chains on the skirt and the black and white cocktail dress, decorated with white fur at the hem.
Not without surprises: a gray-haired model Catherine Loewe, who opened the show in a slinky jersey pantsuit, didn’t pass the test of high heels and fell several times on the podium. The audience treated the incident with compassion, at the show final the grand lady proudly carried the unfortunate shoes in her hands under the encouraging applause.
25-year-old Anna Cleveland, the daughter of the famous model Pat Cleveland, performed on the podium a real acting etude, reminding the audience of the plasticity and temperament of her famous mother.
And the appearance of Conchita Wurst as the bride was predetermined – Gautier is known to be a Eurovision fan, not once he was a part of the jury of the contest, and such a character as Conchita, just couldn’t stay unnoticed. In order to appear on the Paris catwalk in a wedding dress Conchita was brave enough to shave her beard.
