The 1930s, known as the era of great social change, brought new silhouettes and aesthetics into fashion. Flapper dresses grew into floor length satin gowns, women adopted trousers — so the glamour was born. The exhibition presents the most influential day and evening fashions of the 1930s. Over 100 ensembles are featured across nine defining themes, exploring fashion of the decade from the home, to the workplace, to the beach and on to the night club, examining how the rise of the women’s magazine influenced choices of garment for each of these occasions.

Еxhibition runs till January 20, 2019.

Address: 83 Bermondsey Street, London SE1 3XF
