Designer Diana von Furstenberg said that since 2019, her brand Diane von Furstenberg will no longer use natural fur in their collections.
Von Furstenberg added, “I am so excited that technology has provided us a way to feel as glamorous with faux fur.”
The brand also started cooperation with the society for the protection of animals in the USA and PETA. “It’s time for us to make this change and accept responsibility to ensure that we don’t promote killing animals for the sake of fashion,” said Sandra Campos, chief executive officer of DVF.
Beginning with 2019, DVF will not incorporate the use of exotic skins, mohair, angora or fur.
Among the brands that refused to use natural fur when creating their collections were Michael Kors, Jimmy Choo, Versace, Gucci and Burberry, Stella McCartney..
