Carolina Neri and Bérengère Lux are longtime friends from Milan, who founded their own costume jewelry brand CA&LOU in 2010.
The brand name CA&LOU stands for Carolina” and Lou-Lou (Bérengère’s childhood nickname) respectively. Fashion for Carolina and Bérengère is both passion and profession. Before ever becoming business partners, Carolina has worked for years as a fashion stylist and contributing fashion editor in famous glossy magazines while Bérengère has a background in communications for large fashion companies. The brand’s story started when girls failed in finding an ideal jewelry and after the series of personal orders to jeweler, Carolina and Bérengère finally decided to set up their own brand.
CA&LOU is a contemporary haute-bijoux inspired by the aesthetics of 1920s. All the pieces crafted by hand in a small Milanese jewelry workshop, where the artisans use the same techniques for metal and semi-precious stones once reserved for haute couture jewelry. CA&LOU introduces headbands, belts and jewel bags too. All the bijoux-designs have famous style-icon’s names who inspire Carolina and Bérengère: the earrings Sophie in honor of actress Sophia Loren or the Diana bracelet Diana after The princess Diana. Modern it girls Giovanna Battaglia, Coco Brandolini, Leigh Lezark and even Queen Rania of Jordon choose CA&LOU haute-bijoux.
