Dates and theme of Biennale of contemporary art in Venice

Biennale of contemporary art in Venice will be held from May 13 to November 26 2017 under the main theme “Viva arte viva”. President of the Venice Biennale, Paolo Baratta and the curator of the 57th International art exhibition Christine Macel made an official statement at the meeting with representatives of the 57 participating countries. The exposition will unfold in the famous Venetian gardens in the Castello district, in a large industrial complex of the medieval Arsenale, and other locations throughout Venice.
Curator Christine Macel justified the choice of the theme: “In a world full of conflicts and clashes that have put humanity at serious risk, art is a valuable part of a human being. This is the perfect place for free thinking, individual expression and setting the fundamental issues.”
