Kering opens doors of headquarters in the framework of the European Heritage Days and presents two temporary exhibitions: the couture dresses of Cristóbal Balenciaga and part of the contemporary art collection of François-Henri Pinault, Chairman and CEO of Kering. On Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 September 2016, anyone can look into the heart of the house of Balenciaga, which together with Kering’s office is located in a historic building at 40, Rue de Sevre. From 1634 to 2000 at this location there was the famous Laennec hospital. The building is like a jewel of historical heritage in itself is of undoubted interest. The exhibition of works from the collection of François-Henri Pinault will be held in the chapel, exploring some of the religious aspects of the history of art. The exhibition will include the following: Décor (2011-2012), by Adel Abdessemed; All (2007), by Maurizio Cattelan; Gelijkenis I & II (2002), by Marlene Dumas; In Jerusalem (2006), by Y.Z. Kami; Black Supper (1991) by Andres Serrano; and The Last Supper (1999), by Hiroshi Sugimoto.

Twenty-seven original couture dresses from the archives of the houses are devoted to two creative peroods of Cristóbal Balenciaga — Spanish period from 1930 to 1937, and Paris in the period from 1937 to 1968. You can see firsthand the famous coat “Cocoon” (1966), “Doll” (1958), dress “Sari” (1964) and the dress and costume that was worn in 1962 Marlene Dietrich.
