Exhibition of Raphael in Moscow

State Museum of Fine Arts named after A. S. Pushkin will present on September 13, the first Russian exhibition of the works of Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino – painter, architect of the Renaissance. The work of this master influenced many subsequent generations of artists, including in Russia. Raphael, during the life called “divine” – he was one of the titans of the era. Special attention at the exhibition will be given to portraiture — the artist created a new type of Renaissance portrait, in which the face is endowed with all the qualities of a living particular person, is presented as a generalized image of the personality of his time.

The Exhibition “Raphael. The poetry of the image. Art from the Galleries of the Uffizi and other collections of Italy” will be held from 13 September to 11 December in the The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow.
